Ives Ingelaere was born in a little old town in the Flemish-speaking
part of Belgium in 1961.
At a very early age, being barely six, Ives started spending a lot of
his free time in the Royal Academy of Art in his native town. Drawing,
graphic art, monumental art.... plus art history, were part of his
curriculum. Since then, and with time, he became quite active in
discovering, analysing and testing all forms of artistic expression
such as colours, forms... materials and various techniques. After some
years at the University of Psychological Sciences, he obtained a Master
degree in Art.
He worked for some years in different schools, but finally decided to
leave the education sector for a business career in furniture design.
In 1993 however, he decided to return to his first love, that is ....
art, and started his own business.
Today he manages a company which has two main directions, visual
communication and applied art.
Visual communication oriented towards creating 'house-styles' for
businesses, related media contacts, and towards creating profiles for
target-clients, and helping them with the 'styling' of the business or
of the company building.
The other direction is related to applied and monumental art for
decoration purposes, such as, special paint applications and visual
effects such as the so-called 'trompe-l'oeil', fresco's, mural art.
This is the principal occupation for the moment, but Ives has many
projects for different leisure resorts,
and a lot of decoration work in private houses, not only in Belgium but
also in France, Spain
and the Netherlands.
